Whitley Bay Film Festival

A packed programme of film screenings in
unique locations across Whitley Bay and beyond.
Our 2023 festival included a visit from our patron, writer
Ian La Frenais with a special event marking the 50th anniversary of TV comedy classic Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads? at the Playhouse, Whitley bay on the 19th September.
Other highlights included: The Wicker Man (1973) in the pretty
village of Earsdon, I Daniel Blake introduced by actor Dave Johns, in the Whitley Bay Big Local Hub (former Jobcentre), screenings at the iconic St Mary’s Lighthouse including ‘Father Earth’ with creator Graham Fellows (AKA John Shuttleworth), Bridge of Spies at The Watch house Cullercoats, They Live (1988) in Tynemouth Social Club an Alice in Wonderland themed event at the wonderful Seaton Delaval Hall, ‘The Mediators’ live soundtrack event for a Buster Keaton double bill at the Rendezvous and more....
