FESTIVAL LAUNCH EVENT
BUSTER KEATON DOUBLE BILL with a live soundtrack performed by THE MEDIATORS
We launch the festival on the 15th September at the iconic Rendezvous Café with a look back at some of the festival’s previous events since 2010 in and around Whitley Bay. This is followed by a special ‘Double Bill’ of Buster Keaton’s short films The Blacksmith and One Week accompanied by a live electronic soundtrack performed by The Mediators.
The Blacksmith (1922) - 21 minutes
Buster Keaton shoes horses and repairs cars, with mixed results.
One Week (1920) - 25 minutes
A newly wedded couple attempts to build a house with a prefabricated kit, unaware that a rival sabotaged the kit's component numbering.
