NATURE MATTERS ARCHIVE FILM SCREENING
Presented by Yorkshire and North East Film Archives
North East Film Archives, exploring how nature has been used, abused and lived alongside. It raises questions: what we have done to our fellow species, what are we doing now, and how can we adapt our behaviours and habits to create a more equitable space?
Martha Cattell, Delivery Manager for the archives’ Nature Matters project, takes you on a journey through the decades, exploring the changing climate of Yorkshire and the North East. The screening features themes that traverse time: from weather, wildlife, access to land, pollution, and activism. How has the climate conversation changed and what role does film play in telling this narrative as we look to the future?
Nature Matters, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, is both a love letter to nature but also a call to action, revealing the shifting concerns over the decades about issues which impact on our natural world alongside more recent quests for more sustainable lifestyles.
